How much does it cost to move a mobile home in Georgia?

Hey everyone, it’s Brad. I’m a real estate investor in Georgia and I own Arbor View Properties, which includes Arborviewhomebuyers.com and GAmobilehomebuyers.com. I specialize in purchasing mobile homes all over the state of Georgia, and I’ve gained a lot of knowledge about them. I’ve put together some videos to help people who are considering selling a mobile home.

One common question I receive is about selling a mobile home and having it moved offsite to a different location for the buyer. So, how much does it cost to move a mobile home? In general, the cost is usually between $8,000 to $12,000, but this can vary based on several factors.

The specific price depends on factors like the distance of the move, the number of locations involved, the terrain, the accessibility, and the type of mobile home (single wide or double wide). Keep in mind that these are general estimates and actual costs may differ.

The cost of moving a mobile home typically ranges from $8,000 to $12,000. However, some people may know someone who can do it for less. If you hire a moving company, you can expect the cost to be in that range. If you’re selling a mobile home, it’s important to consider the cost of moving, as the buyer will likely need to account for it as well.

Keep in mind that if a mobile home is moved from its original location, the buyer may have difficulty obtaining financing, as most lenders, including HUD, are hesitant to lend money for a mobile home that has been moved before. This limitation can reduce your pool of potential buyers, as they may need to pay cash or seek private financing. And the reason is simply the potential damage to the unit from being moved multiple times. They’re not really designed to be moved repeatedly. They’re meant to be moved once and that’s it. They’re not like an RV that’s meant to be moved around all the time.

Keep in mind that if your buyer is paying cash, you’ve limited your potential buyer pool significantly. You’ll only attract people who can pay cash because most won’t be able to get a loan for that. Alternatively, you’ll have to offer seller financing. So keep this in mind when selling your unit.

I hope this answers your question about the cost of moving a mobile home. I’m Brad with GAmobilehomebuyers.com and Arborviewhomebuyers.com.
